The History of Celestion Speakers



Founded in 1924 in Hampton Wick, Celestion filed one of the original speaker patents. In 1936 they developed one of the first speakers still identifiable by today’s standards, the G12 which was used for radio. Believe it or not, Celestion actually started out as an electronic plating company. Luckily they decided to focus on speakers, and in doing so have developed quite the name for themselves. In fact, they have grown to become one of the world’s largest and most innovative manufacturers of loudspeakers.

Players of all genres can agree on one thing; that Celestion tone is unbeatable. They started out primarily known as a guitar speaker brand but has since become more popular in the pro audio world.
