Welcome Back To AMS G&L Guitars

G&L
Leo Fender is a name that carries great weight in the musical instrument community, and the world as a whole. Leo started a number of legendary brands including the obvious Fender, Music Man and finally G&L Guitars. G&L Guitars was born from his CLF Research company founded in 1966. Clarence Leo Fender began the final chapter of his legendary career when he launched the G&L brand and instruments in 1980. G&L instruments benefited from his lifetime of creativity and innovation, and throughout the 1980s his groundbreaking new instruments became icons loved by musicians around the world.

Today’s G&L instruments continue to be made in his historic factory on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California – The Birthplace of Bolt-on. We invite you to discover why Leo famously declared “G&L guitars and basses are the best instruments I have ever made.” Enough of the history lesson, how about we get to the meat and potatoes. First up we have some of the amazing guitars that G&L has to offer. Some are familiar designs, but they have their own unique charm.

Fullerton Deluxe Comanche

G&L Guitars

The G&L Comanche is Leo’s final word on the traditional double-cutaway bolt-on axe. Fact is, the first thing you’ll notice about the Comanche is the distinctive shape of the Magnetic Field Design Z-Coil pickups designed by Leo Fender himself. These pickups deliver a bright and sparkly top end while offering a robust bottom end, all without any 60-cycle hum.

Fullerton Deluxe ASAT Special

G&L

The G&L ASAT Special just might be the quintessential G&L guitar, viewed by many as Leo’s ultimate single-cutaway. Back in 1985, Leo Fender launched this model under the G&L Broadcaster name, which prompted a response from Fred Gretsch of Gretsch Guitars over the name just as it had thirty-five years earlier. History buffs will recall that the Broadkaster name is owned by Gretsch, and once again, a Broadcaster from Leo was required to have its name changed.
